Leaky Pipeline Spills Crude Oil Near Tioga

Posted: Updated:

Experts are estimating that more than 20,000 barrels of crude oil spilled through a leaky pipeline in a wheat field outside of Tioga. The spill was first reported on September 29th by Tesoro Logistics, the owners of the pipeline.  It originally reported that the spill was about 750 barrels.

"You know, this is an industrial business and sometimes things happen and the companies are certainly responsible to take care of these things when they happen. But again, it's contained in a field, and Tesoro will be up there working very hard, I'm sure, to clean it up," says ND Petroleum Council President Ron Ness.

Mary Cate Mannion have more on that story tomorrow.
