KFYR-TV, KQCD-TV and our sponsor University of Mary offered a local and unique opportunity for students in the Bismarck and Dickinson viewing areas to write and read a television story with our anchors! "Students do the News" was held at Kirkwood Mall on January 14, 2012. Students in grades 4 through 8 were eligible to participate.
Students wrote a 30 to 40-second story on current events, weather or sports. The KFYR-TV camera crew and news set was in place at Kirkwood Mall and students read their news stories “on camera.”
Each student received a special gift for participating. Winners received Kirkwood Mall gift certificates and a trophy from KFYR-TV.
