Bad Driving Conditions | Video

Julie Leonardi | 2/18/2013

Another round of harsh winter weather is causing big problems out on the roads. Iced over roadways and blowing snow are causing slick road conditions, making it very dangerous to travel on local highways.

Emergency crews have been responding to numerous slide-off and rollover crashes. The combination of high winds and icy roads are keeping the highway patrol and other police agencies very busy.

Sergeant Kevin Huston, North Dakota Highway Patrol, said, “So far today, the highway patrol has covered approximately seven crashes in the Minot area. They`ve all been one vehicle rollover. Fortunately, they`ve all been property damage, nobody has been injured.”

The highway patrol is asking everyone to slow down, avoid using cruise control and if you see a crash, don’t stop to look. The agency shut down a portion of I-94 between Jamestown and Valley City because of icy road conditions and near zero visibility.
