Keystone XL Pipeline Study | Video

Sarahbeth Ackerman | 2/15/2013

Both Republicans and Democrats discussed the importance of the long-delayed Keystone Pipeline project on the U.S. Senate floor yesterday. Senator John Hoeven and a group of bipartisan senators were raising awareness on the pipeline project. By pushing for this project, Hoeven and the other senators said it will create jobs, improve the energy security and boost the overall economy.

During the discussion, Hoeven recognized the Harris Interactive Poll that said 70 percent of Americans are in support of the construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline project.

Hoeven is questioning the delay on the approval of the pipeline project. "So my question for the administration is; is this decision going to be made on the facts and what the American people want? Or, is this going to be made on the basis of special interest groups that may demonstrate from time to time around the White House."

Hoeven would like to get the 200 miles of the Keystone Pipeline connected so it can start to move oil.
