The Subcommittee on Investigations and Oversight held a hearing this morning on "Operating Unmanned Aircraft Systems in the National Airspace System." Congressman Kevin Cramer is the Vice-Chairman of the Subcommittee, and he questioned the FAA, NASA, and GAO officials regarding the safety factors associated with the expected integration of unmanned aerial systems into national airspace.

Yesterday, the Federal Aviation Administration requested proposals for test sites to integrate unmanned aircraft with manned aircraft.

North Dakota is one of 26 states competing to be a host.
