With every great business, you need to learn the fundamentals and, that`s exactly what Nikki Brose did. For Brose, she has a eye for all things vibrant like tulips, gerber daisies, and roses.

"You can tell by taking to people what they are looking for and get the feeling of what they want and you go from there," she said.

After being in the flower business for 21 years, Brose said it still all began with the solid building blocks of education. "The flower industry is one of those industries where you keep learning."

During her college years, she majored in education with a part time job at a flower shop. That is where she found her passion for flowers and switched her career.

"I realized that I enjoyed flowers and I started learning more. And, I started taking some design classes," said Brose.

She was still able to intertwine her passion for flowers with her education background.

"Once you learn something new, you can always turn around and teach."

Because education is designed in every career, she was able to design flowers and teach about them too.

Brose attends and teaches at the North Dakota Florist Association.
