A new learning center focusing on math and language arts is now open in Bismarck. Eye Level Learning Center is in the Eckroth Building on North Grandview Lane. The center helps students catch up if they`re behind in the classroom and also offers opportunity for other students to advance in their learning.
It`s an after-school program that believes learning happens at a student`s eye level.
"I was looking around in town for after school programs that`s good for education and I didn`t find any. So I thought it would be a good addition to the community," said Arpitha Rao with Eye Level Learning Center.
There is one teacher for every four students. You can learn more about Eye Level Learning Center at www.myeyelevel.com.
Three members of the Bismarck Fire Department have new jobs. Fire Captain Jeff Holte was promoted to Batallion Chief. Holte has served with the department since 1984.
Firefighter Josh Peshek was promoted to Captain. He`s been with the department since 2004 and works at the Tyler Parkway station.
Firefighter Jon Hildremyr was also promoted to Captain. He`s been a firefighter since 2005, and works at the Sleepy Hollow station.
