Garden Project Donates Over 222,800 Pounds of Produce

A North Dakota garden projected announced today that last year, they donated over 222,800 pounds of produce. According to the North Dakota Department of Agriculture, the Hunger Free ND Garden Project donated the fresh produce to food pantries, soup kitchens and other programs.

“The Hunger Free ND Garden Project is a vital partnership between those who have produce to share and those who receive it,” said Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring. “It fosters stronger community ties by bringing people together and meeting real needs that exist on a daily basis.”

The Hunger Free ND Garden Project was started in 2010.
