The Minot City Council has approved Hope Village`s special use permit, so they can continue their flood recovery efforts until July 2014. The group still has 150 homes left to repair. The Hope Village concept morphed into what it is today after the group realized the amount of unmet needs in the community.
“The city allowed us to put up the camp and allow the hundreds of volunteers that have come through this past season, from 26 different states and three provinces, just to help us do the rebuild. If that wouldn`t have been approved Hope Village would cease to exist,” said coordinator Steve Carbno.
In addition to volunteers, Hope Village is also looking for food service employees. For more information visit www.hopevillagend.org.
