Manslaughter Charge in Bismarck Man’s Death

The person who police say is responsible for the injuries that caused the death of a Bismarck man in October was charged today with manslaughter. Derek Oshkeshequoam, 30, died on October 28 after he was assaulted at a house party in Mandan the day before.

Oshkeshequoam`s death was ruled as a homicide after the autopsy.

Colten Towry, who Mandan police say was responsible for Oshkeshequoam`s injuries, was charged today with Manslaughter.

The residents of the home, Christopher Vernon and Joseph Houle, who police say kept Oshkeshequoam in their basement for over 22 hours before bringing him to the hospital, were also charged today with Reckless Endangerment.
