School Start Date Bill

Jessica Roose | 1/25/2013

Members in the House voted down a bill this afternoon that if passed would have pushed the start date for schools later into August. Those who opposed it said it took local control from the school districts.

Supporters said it would be beneficial for tourism and students should be able to enjoy their break while it is still nice outside.

It failed 53 to 35.
