Williston Woman Kills Dog | Video

Williston Police have released details on a gruesome animal cruelty death that occurred on Christmas Day. According to the report, Wanda Steen, 57, beat her own dog to death outside her apartment complex.

Steen was placed under arrest at the scene and was taken to the Williams County Jail. A call to the jail revealed that Steen is no longer at the facility, and her current location is undisclosed.

According to an anonymous neighbor, Steen threw the animal against a shed before killing the dog with a hammer and then disposing of the body in a dumpster near the complex.

As of yet, police say no charges have been filed, and the State Attorney`s office is now handling the case.

The MonDak Humane Society says this is yet another example of why North Dakota`s animal cruelty laws need to change.
