Fiscal Cliff Deadline | Video

Jessica Roose | 12/14/2012

Congress is one day closer to the deadline for avoiding the fiscal cliff. Senator John Hoeven says he is confident a deal will be reached in time, but is afraid that deal won`t be big enough. Hoeven says the country needs a roughly four trillion dollar deal that includes pro-growth tax reform, entitlement reform, and better spending control.

"The biggest thing is the President wants revenue. The real revenue comes from economic growth. We`ve shown that here in North Dakota. We can`t get the administration to engage with us on how do we get better spending control."

He says they`ve offered revenue through closing loopholes and limiting deductions, and says we need to find ways to not spend so much.
