Fill The Truck | Video

Joel Porter | 12/8/2012

Salvation Army bell ringers are in the midst of their holiday campaign all over North Dakota. On Saturday morning, the workers dressed in red were asking for more than just money.

The Salvation Army hosted its Fill the Truck drive at the south Walmart in Bismarck. Organizers were asking for both gifts and coats to give to children. Salvation Army leaders say the money and gifts they receive will help out hundreds of low income families.

"And then the holidays coming up. I can imagine there`s families who really wonder if they`re doing right by their kids and these programs really do help," Captain Tim Sell said.

The Salvation Army is now seeking volunteers to help with the Joy Shop, which opens on December 18. For more information on becoming a volunteer, you can call 701-223-1889.
