BNC National Bank Makes Offer on Mandan Lot | Video

Joel Porter | 12/4/2012

One of the largest banks in North Dakota has plans to build another branch in Mandan. BNC National Bank is offering the city more than $162,000 for the lot at the corner of Main Street and Collins Avenue. If accepted, BNC would spend about $1.5 million to build.

Dakota Commercial of Grand Forks made the only other offer, with plans to build an apartment complex.

"We like the look of it and we just feel that on that corner with that look, it`s just going to be a beautiful building to help redevelop the downtown Mandan area," North Dakota`s BNC President Dave Hoekstra said.

Mandan city commissioners went into executive session with the city attorney during Tuesday`s meeting to discuss contract negotiations on the lot.
