Two Bismark Residents Hospitalized for Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

Two Bismarck residents were taken to the hospital early this morning for carbon monoxide poisoning. Shortly after 2:30 this morning, the fire department was called to a Bismarck home where two people were ill from the suspected presence of carbon monoxide. The residents were treated and taken by ambulance to a hospital.

Fire crews found substantial levels of carbon monoxide in the home. They traced the source to a hot water boiler that was either not burning or venting correctly.

Bismarck fire recommends all homeowners to get heating systems inspected and maintained on a regular basis.
