Spreading Holiday Cheer Around the Globe | Video

Michelle San Miguel | 11/11/2012

This week many people in North Dakota will be getting an early start spreading some holiday cheer. In churches across the state, people are stuffing shoeboxes with school supplies, hygiene products and toys that will then be sent to children around the world.

On Sunday night volunteers were packing boxes at First Evangelical Free Church in Bismarck.

"These boxes are distributed to children who we can`t even fathom in America the dire poverty and war-torn countries and just extreme poverty that these children have endured," said Joy Anderson, co-regional collection coordinator for Operation Christmas Child.

Those who`d like to help out can pick up a box at First Evangelical Free Church. Volunteers will be collecting boxes until November 19.
