Charges will not be filed against an unlicensed caterer whose food tested positive for salmonella and
was linked to 180 illnesses.
A unit of the state Health Department voted against charges for Aggie Jennings, who lives on a McLean County farm.
Local authorities also say they won`t pursue the case.
State officials have said food served by Jennings at two wedding receptions and a family reunion in June tested positive for the
salmonella.
The state said the tests showed a strain of salmonella found in baby chickens, and Jennings has chicks on her farm.
A state report indicated 180 people were sickened.
At least 76 people sought medical care and at least 10 were hospitalized. |
