The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is planning a series of public meetings around the region to address oil and gas exploration and extraction near the Garrison Dam/Lake Sakakawea Project.
In anticipation of increased oil activity, the Corps is examining the effects of potential development in the area, and is working to create an environmental assessment to identify sensitive resources and establish expectations for mineral permit applicants.
Citizens are encouraged to attend and to provide their input. Attendees will receive informational handouts and will also have an opportunity to discuss the project with Corps employees.
Meeting times:
-February 3rd, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm CST at the Four Bears Casino---202 Frontage Road, New Town, ND 58763
-February 4th, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm CST at the MDU Building---220 2nd Avenue East, Williston, ND 58801
