North Dakota`s winter storm has a spring look to it.
The National Weather Service says temperatures were warmer than expected today, with highs in the 50s in Fargo. By late afternoon, that area got about half an inch of rain -- leading to a flood watch for parts of the Red River Valley.
The Red in Fargo was just 2 feet short of its 18-foot flood stage late this afternoon. Meteorologist Vince Godon says it won`t take much to push it over. But he says the flooding is expected to be minor.
A floating bike bridge between Fargo and Moorhead is being removed from the Red River tomorrow because of possible flooding.
The western part of the state has been getting a rain-snow mix.
Forecasters say it could change to snow later tonight. |
