The race is on to collect good quality gently used kid’s coats and other winter gear for Coats for Kids. KQCD-TV Chief Meteorologist Kevin Lawrence asks everyone in Dickinson and surrounding communities to check their closets for kid’s coats, snowsuits, caps, scarves, mittens and boots that your child has outgrown. Excel Cleaners will clean each donated item and the Salvation Army and Community Action will distribute the winter gear to kids in our community who need it. Last year, 937 coats and other items were donated to this annual community project. If you would like to donate a kid’s coat or other winter apparel, please drop the items off at Excel Cleaners in Dickinson. The winter gear will be distributed to area kids in September. Watch KQCD-TV for more details.
